  Date of Service:   4/8/2004
Work Done on:   Class A - Gasoline
Service Performed:   Leaky windshields to be repaired. Could not repair without taking windshields out to make sure sealed properly. If they broke the windshields I must pay for replacement windshields. Company broke my 2 windshields so I payed to have them replaced and sealed properly
Evaluation of Service Performed:   A complete nightmare. They re-caulked the windshields until the new ones came in. It happened to rain and I checked the inside to find a waterfall pouring in where the attempt was made to remove them. Besides loosing a whole night sleep, the privacy curtains were destroyed and stained from the water. ST set of windshields installed were not installed with the proper sealant, they shifted down and and out and the so called decorative molding shrunk. The vinyl interior around the windshield was torn all around. I called them within 4 hours of them completing the job. The technicians came out the next day and asked if I was offered a discount...I told them I wanted them installed properly...
I should have known there and then that this was just the beginning of a lot of stress. The windshields they broke again were to be replaced again only to have the technician come in to tell me that he got the wrong windshield, he wanted to throw a tarp over my Class A RV. They duct taped the old them in only to prove it was the windshields leaking, as long as the duct tape was on my RV was dry. Company came out again saying it was the proper windshield and that my RV was probably in an accident and thats why it didn't fit. When they got done installing the second new set of windshields they looked horrible and as I found out within 1 week that they leak. I was told it was because of the body twisting on the RV when we drove it. I went through them trying to repair the the header panel vinyl interior only to see our DVD player hanging in front of the window by its cord and the guy jamming wired around overhead. It cost $200.00 to get the stereo system of $3500.00 re-wired correctly (this system was put in 7 months earlier). Now I invested $1584.70 to ensure my RV will not leak (Ha!) $200.00 to have the stereo system wiring corrected and another $125.00 for another set of privacy curtains. I asked the owner at that point to pay the extras that I paid..he said he wasn't going to pay me. I told him I will take him to court. He said go ahead. I did, I won and in the midst because I have a heart I settled on the windshield that I was told wasn't the right one to begin with. so that is 1/2 the repairs and the damages done but I would have to bring this guy back his windshield that he paid for. (what happened to the 2 I paid for) Finally found another installer who had to take both windshields our (without breaking them!) and reset and seal them. I was told I would have more leaking problems because of the poor workmanship in installing the windshields. This was my knight in shining armor. My RV looked the was it did when we bought it 8 months before American Mobile touched it. I was handed a bill of $627.00 which I paid happily and sent American Mobil the bill and itemized damages which was cheaper than the actual judgment. He sent me a check saying all he was allowing was $580.00. Hmmmm I spent $2535.00 abouts was stressed and told by the owner that everything was my fault. Somethings wrong here. I am still trying to get response from the small claims court. If you want I will let you know the outcome.
