We had a problem with our kitchen slide-out when we were in Morgan City Louisiana. One end was 3.5 inches short of going out when the other end was
fully out. We phoned Gauthiers' RV in Lafayette, and were able to make an appointment for 10 days later, when we were heading in that direction. It was important for us to get service expediently, as we were travelling through the area from Canada, and live in the RV, so didn't want to wait indefinitely for a time-slot to get the work done. Not a problem. We explained the issue to the service manager, who had called us back promptly, and he figured he knew what the problem was based on our description of the slide-out mechanism. On the appointed day, we arrived at their shop about 8:30 AM. They took a look at it, and confirmed that the mechanism was as expected. We headed off for some coffee, then did a bit of shopping. By 12:30, we got a call that the unit was ready for us to pick up, all fixed. When we returned, we found that in addition to the slide-out being fixed, they replaced our shore power cord, a needed repair. They wouldn't let it leave the shop without repairing it, as it was a safety hazard. The charge for these repairs a bargain compared to our fears that we might either have to live with only being able to use one slide and the broken one covering our furnace cold-air return. We didn't even have to pay for one night in a hotel before continuing on our trip. In addition, the service manager had recommendations on lubricating the slide, which no other dealer had ever recommended, plus how to deal with a variety of less serious issues we have. We highly recommend Gauthiers' to anyone needing RV service in the Lafayette area. |

| Service Performed: | We had a propane issue on our 2010 Excel. Since there is no Excel dealer in the area the factory asked me to pick a dealer and call for a repair number. I called Gauthier's and they said come over on the 7th and they would work me in. | ||
| Evaluation of Service Performed: | We arrived at the dealer at 8:30 am and was out by 9:30 am. The tech was very efficient and courteous, the work was done, checked and we were on our way. I highly recommend this dealer for repairs. | ||

It's been a year since we had this service work done but I just found this site.......sorry.....better late than never!
The slide motor on our Mobile Scout was "clicking" when opening the slide. Called Gauthier's and described my problem and they informed me on the phone that the motor would need to be replaced. They made the appointment for the same week @ 8am. I was on time for the appointment and they technician got to working on it right away. I was back on the road in 20 minutes or less. |
