Currently stationed here in Millington. Have
previously dealt with Jay out at Navy Lake Campground. He came out and replaced my blackwater tank. Proceeded to have issues with that and ended up calling another service center. Come to find out that when the tank was installed, the hole that was cut out to plumb the drain, the plastic was left in the tank. After a month or two of use, found that when i went to empty tank, it would drain slowly. Also, kept getting alot of sewer gas. After further inspection from new service man, found that the vent pipe for the tank was pushed upward to the top of the vent cover not allowing the tank to vent properly. All was fixed and in good working order now through another service center. In dealing with Jay, he was a nice man and always offered to help, so i decided to give him another chance when my awning ripped. He did work for my neighbors and there were no issues. Me trusting that he would be good on his word, we proceeded to trade a Honda generator for him to fix the awning. This is when things really started to fall apart. After multiple calls, he finally showed up to my site, but with a completely different type of awning material that did not match the current awning that was in place. I told him that i wanted the exact same awning to be replaced as that was the value amount in the trade for the generator. After more phone calls, he finally showed up with the correct awning fabric, proceeded to install it, but it was the wrong size. While he was installing the incorrect size of awning, he managed to rip off my strip lighting that was in place under the awning for outdoor lighting. When all this happened I was present and was like this needs to be fixed right with the correct awning and fix the light strip. It has now been over a year, and have no resolve from him to repair the awning with the correct size and fix the light strip. I have called numerous times only to ring and then go to voicemail. I have asked some of his previous customers to give him a ring as well to see if they could get ahold of him. Still the same thing. It wasn't until here recently when i had the service repair back out to fix my air conditioner. I told him about the situation and he asked for his number. Low and behold, he answered on the second ring. He told my service repair man that he had tried to contact me by leaving notes on my camper multiple times and that he had the correct awning. He also said that he would call me right away after he hung up with him. Well, guess what, no call and proceeded to call him again leaving voicemails and no answer. All in all, very shady character who does not provide a good service. Be warry, i have had other complaints about him as well in regards to electrical work that he has done. Also, word on the street is that he has done other work and people have had to call other service centers to repair the work that he has done. As far as i know he is not licensed, and he may have formerly worked at a camping world center, where he "learned his skills". I would not do business with this guy!!! Currently looking into legal restitution for my issues. |
