We developed a major "creak/squeak" in the front right of the RV, after just a week and a half on the road. We were traveling with our RV Club in CA wine
country and tried to get a shops in Monterey, Pleasanton, Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park to look at it. Only one shop could help us, but we were going to have to wait at least a week. We couldn't do that. So we continued on. We got to Fort Bragg and Pomo RV Park suggested a mechanic to us, and he recommended another, Mendocino Auto, because they have a heavy truck lift. We went to the shop, talked to Dirk, and he could get us in the following day. After a thorough inspection of the front end, it was determined that the leaf springs were squeaking, but the major creak was due to a weld that had broken on a frame brace. He greased everything up, welded the piece back to the frame and we were out of there in 3 hours. |
