| Service Performed: | Installed 2 new Michelin 235/80/22.5 XRV tires. Decided to use Michelin tires after the Goodyear tires developed an unusual tread wear (cupping). Contacted Michelin Truck Tire and they referred me to several dealers in the Medford, OR area. I contacted them and they indicated they did not have any XRV tires in stock and it would take a week to 10 days to receive. We were on the road and could not wait for the delivery. Contacted Les Schwab who had the tires in stock. An added bonus was that the tires had a manufacturer date of 1511 (they let me look at the tires before purchasing to confirm the date they were made.) The last time I purchased tires from a Michelin authorized tire dealer the "new" tires were over two years old. Do not know why Michelin Truck did not refer me to Schwab in the first instance. Schwab prices are probably on the high end particularly when compared to Costco, but comparable to the Michelin dealers, but Costco does not install 22.5 inch tires and an additional cost would be incurred to have the tires mounted and balanced elsewhere. Costco would also have to order the tires as well. | ||
