  Date of Service:   1/22/2008
Work Done on:   Medium Duty Truck
Service Performed:   Sears Batteries in a 350 Superduty Diesel
Evaluation of Service Performed:   This was the third trip in because of a cold morning starting problem. On the previous two trips, they serviced the batteries and cleaned them at no charge. Service did not seem to be a high priority. This store is also located in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Dallas, TX. We recently had a missionary held up at gunpoint nearby.
On this trip, I went to Texan Ford in Arlington, TX to get the truck serviced and to have them diagnose the starting problem. Texan Ford said the problem was bad batteries. I told the service person at Sears that I was tired of bringing the vehicle back in and was sure the batteries were bad. If he did not want to replace them, provide me with his name and I would file a complaint and purchase Interstate batteries like I should have done in the first place. I suspect the "technician" did not know how to check a dual battery system. They determined that one of the two batteries was bad and replaced only the one they determined to be bad. I told him I understood that on a dual battery system, both batteries should be replaced. He said that Sears' policy was to only replace the bad battery. I left with the starting problem solved - for now.
