  Date of Service:   5/1/2019
Work Done on:   Class A - Gasoline
Service Performed:   Our generator had no output, motor ran fine.
Called and did diagnostics over phone.
Suddenly we had power. Did not want to
trust that it was fixed. Made an
appointment for test and maintenance.
Evaluation of Service Performed:   Arrived on time, they got right to work.
Diagnosis did not find a reason for the
previous loss of power output. But everything
tested OK. Performed maintenance, oil, filter
air cleaner. Recommend when we have time
to do 500 hour Onan recommended
maintenance, which would take two days.
Will schedule that for our return.

  Date of Service:   3/9/2017
  Work Done on:   Class C
Service Performed:   Check generator as it would not start.
Evaluation of Service Performed:   Brought my Class C RV in as the Onan generator would not start. I said
that it must be the fuel pump as I heard no clicking when I tried to start
it. They charged me 1.4 hours ($126) to tell me it was the fuel pump but
could not fix it right away so I made another appointment for the
following week which I later cancelled. They verbally quoted me 8 hours
at $90 an hour plus parts and tax. I thought that was expensive so I make
an appointment at another place (Jeff's Auto Repair in Green Valley, also
authorized Onan service dealer) to check with what they had to say. They
looked at it and confirmed that it was the fuel pump, and that was at no
charge. They quoted me that it would be less than $500 in total. I had
them do the work the following day and the total including labor, parts
and tax was $284. Big difference. They even took the time to let me start
the generator and ask and questions. They guarantee their work as well.
Very satisfied with them.

  Date of Service:   2/15/2017
Work Done on:   Class A - Diesel
Service Performed:   Repaired our Onan 10KW generator. The unit would not
start. They accurately diagnosed fouled injectors. New
ones were not available locally and we were on a tight
schedule, so they located and installed a set of
reconditioned injectors. They also took the time to
tell me how to avoid the problem in the future. The
generator has run flawlessly since.
Evaluation of Service Performed:   The owner is a little "crusty" but don't let that put
you off. He is a great guy to work with, and the shop
folks really know their stuff. The cost was very
reasonable and done on time.

Service Performed:   If you are in the Tucson area and need generator service I am happy to recommend Simonsen Generator Service (520 889-9581). Our Generac QP 40 (4Kw),
has given excellent service (though we haven't put many hours on it, over the last 2 years and 26,000 miles), but began to run rough, especially at the
higher altitudes we experienced on our last trip.

It became hard to start and once running would load up and die when the heavier loads like AC, Microwave or water heater were applied. I had used
Simonsen for parts/spares in the past but had never taken the rig in for service. I called and booked an appointment, their labor rate is a reasonable $90
an hour. After discussing the symptoms with their staff we all concluded the obvious, probable clogged/dirty fuel filter. They replaced the filter and pulled
the carb off, disassembled and we found fine gritty sand like material in the bottom of the bowl. They used a healthy dose of carb cleaner, blew everything
out with compressed air, put it all back together and it ran like it should (and always has). I ordered a pair of extra oil, air and fuel filters for my spares
locker but they could not be had same day. Generac parts are notoriously hard to come by, hence my buying 2 of each. They should be in by Monday.
Evaluation of Service Performed:   The bill came to $190 including 2 hours of labor, a new fuel filter and shop supplies. Simonsen is located on the south side of Tucson just a short drive from
Camping World and most of the large RV dealers and a number of RV parks. Good guys, good service.

  Work Done on:   Bus Conversion
Service Performed:   Generator would not start they checked relays and switches
finally decided it was a weak battery. Had them change a
12 inch by 1/4 inch fuel line with 2 new clamps. When I asked what I owed he said there was no charge.
Evaluation of Service Performed:   These people know there way around generators, very professional. Would highly recommend this shop
