Date of Service:

Work Done on:
Class B

Service Performed:
An axle broke on our vehicle. I took my vehicle to Jim Allen's in Bishop, California. It took him three weeks to determine
that the four axles he ordered did not fit. I spent 1/2 hour counting splines and had an axle within 48 hours. This guy had
the broken axle in front of him but did not count the splines. He had been ordering 32 spline axles. He charged me $500 and
said that it was because it took him three weeks to order 4 of the wrong axles. He never thought to count the number of
splines on the axle shaft he pulled out of the differential.

Evaluation of Service Performed:
I don't see how this guy stays in business. It looks like the locals do not go to his shop. Apparently he survives on
charging people who break down on 395 exorbitant prices. If I were in Bishop and needed a mechanic I would not go to Jim
Allen's shop.
