This is difficult and can be dangerous job if not done right. I checked with every firm in Yuma area and could find no qualified shop, or they just would not do the job. This is a 600-700 lb unit that has to go in from underneath the coach, and is hard to handle.
R & C did the job in a very professional and timely manner. Although Good Sam Emergency Road Insurance would pay only the minimum charge to take it to the nearest repair facility (lets not talk about qualified or capable) in Yuma I felt it was necessary to take my coach to R & C Diesel in El Centro, and had to pay several hundred dollars extra myself to take it there on a low boy trailer.
It was probably one of the best decisions I have made, and well worth the extra cost of getting it there. This is a Mexican shop and several of the workers do not speak English, but in my opinion did a very excellent, professional job. The head mechanic spoke no English, but was a pleasure to watch him work on my coach.
They far exceeded the estimated hours but only charged me the estimated charges. I have no hesitation of recommending their shop for Bus Conversions or other medium or heavy RVs. I will back there for more needed work on my coach as I consider it one of the best shops I have seen after owning my coach for 7 years. Price and work was as good as I have seen.
